When you are looking to make a little more of a statement in how you dress, consider adding the color and sparkle of jewelry. The right colored gemstone can take your wardrobe into an entirely different direction. Just the smallest hint of yellow, red or blue from a clever layer of jewelry can make such a difference.
Yellow diamond rings bring out the brightness in any ensemble while rose gold jewelry can heat things up when layered with the right scarf or sweater. Red beads on a necklace or bracelet are always a great way to create a focal point against neutral colors. Or, try using a combination of colors to add sophistication and elegance to your evening gown.

No matter what you choose to wear when it comes to colorful jewelry, there are a few things to keep in mind. As you prepare to go shopping for jewelry to accent and improve your wardrobe, consider the following:
· Your Sense of Fashion – Not just any piece of jewelry will do when it comes to adding color to your wardrobe. This is especially true if you choose a piece that is much more flashy or bigger than what you are used to wearing. Do not choose jewelry based on color alone. Make sure it is something you feel comfortable wearing.
· Formal or Casual – As you consider your choices of necklaces or pendants, be mindful of the settings you will most likely be wearing them. You will not want to buy something too formal if you are the type of person who participates in mostly casual events. When your jewelry is too formal for the occasion, you will not feel comfortable wearing it.
· Your Natural Color – Be sure to consider what you already have going for you, including the color of your hair, skin tone, and eyes. There are definitely certain types of colored jewelry that will look better with certain types of colors. It never hurts to try several pieces of jewelry on to find the color that looks best on you.
· Sets or No Sets – When attending a very formal event, a set of jewelry that matches gives a very formal and well-put together look. Many jewelry shops and companies offer matching sets that consist of a ring, necklace, bracelet and earrings that share design and color. However, these sets do not always look great in everyday wear. In fact, pieces that do not match tend to be better for a casual look.
